ImprovCon is the global convention for improvisation, bringing together performers, teachers, students, producers, creators, and fans from around the world. Part convention, part festival, and part party, ImprovCon is a multi-day gathering built around performances, workshops, panels, play, and creative connection.
The inaugural ImprovCon welcomed more than 1,300 people to San Diego in August 2026. We’re now looking ahead to ImprovCon 2027.
Our mission is to advance and celebrate improv as an art form while creating a joyful, welcoming space for connection and play.

Yes. ImprovCon welcomes families, and children attended and participated in our inaugural event. Details about kids’ passes, family accommodations, and youth programming for ImprovCon 2027 will be announced as plans take shape.
ImprovCon programming includes invited artists as well as participants selected through an open submission process. Information about 2027 submissions and opportunities will be announced in the coming months.
Yes! Volunteers are an important part of making ImprovCon happen. Information about 2027 volunteer opportunities, roles, and benefits will be announced closer to the event.
ImprovCon is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive experience. We work with our venues and event team to accommodate access needs wherever possible. More information about accessibility at ImprovCon 2027 will be available as event details are announced.
ImprovCon is built on respect, inclusion, and safety. Our Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, performers, volunteers, partners, and staff. Harassment, discrimination, or harmful behavior is not tolerated.
Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in removal from programming, revocation of event credentials, or removal from the convention.

Yes. Photography and video recording take place throughout ImprovCon. Attendees may appear in event photography or footage used to document, promote, and tell the story of ImprovCon.
There are lots of ways to be part of ImprovCon 2027, including attending, performing or teaching, volunteering, partnering or sponsoring, and spreading the word.
