What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking workshops with clear points of view that advance and celebrate improv. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Highlight regional approaches and cultural specificity
  • Elevate underrepresented perspectives and lived experiences
  • Merge improv with other disciplines
  • Reimagine traditional formats
  • Offer innovative pedagogy or research-based frameworks
  • Serve niche or emerging communities within improv

Each workshop should offer meaningful learning objectives, thoughtful exercises, and strong facilitation. Your session also serves as a live showcase for future opportunities, connecting you with theaters, festivals, and educators beyond ImprovCon.

Optional Paid Workshops

Some workshops may be offered as premium or advanced sessions.

If approved as paid:

  • You set the workshop price
  • ImprovCon manages registration and payments
  • Net revenue is split 70% to the facilitator / 30% to ImprovCon

The ImprovCon portion supports venue costs, staffing, ticketing, and on-site operations.

Both free and paid workshops are curated with equal care.

Participant & Auditor Capacity

Facilitators set limits for:

  • Active participants
  • Auditors (attendees who observe but do not participate)

Auditors are best suited for pedagogy-focused or advanced sessions. Capacity limits help ensure a high-quality experience for everyone.

Submission Timeline

  • Submissions open: March 6, 2026
  • Submissions close: April 30, 2026

Proposals are reviewed in three waves:

  • Early review: Mar 30, 2026
  • Standard review: Apr 15, 2026
  • Final review: Apr 30, 2026

Submitting early allows for earlier notification and greater scheduling flexibility.

What to Expect

ImprovCon is not a teach-and-dash event.

We’re building a full ecosystem where learning, performance, and community intersect. We’re looking for facilitators who are excited to attend the convention, connect with peers, and contribute to the global improv community.

If your work has heart, rigor, and a point of view, we invite you to submit.

Teach. Inspire. Come play.

Workshop Agreement

All Workshop submitters must review and agree to the ImprovCon Workshop Agreement prior to submitting.

A plain-language summary covers performer status, passes, travel and lodging responsibilities, scheduling, technical needs, and code-of-conduct expectations.

Selected workshop facilitators will receive a complimentary Play Pass to the convention.
